Email from Eric....Midnight Deadline and Special Event with Hillary Clinton!

Dear Friends,

I want you to know that we will win this campaign.

In the last 24 hours, you have helped us raise an additional $10,103 and we are just $6,440 short of the $40,000 goal we set last Friday. And just today, we were fortunate to have Senator Hillary Clinton join with us in our fight for the 29th Congressional District. But we still need your help.

Midnight tonight is a crucial fundraising deadline. With your help, we will meet and exceed our fundraising goals. Every contribution is critical - large or small. And I need your help now more than ever.

Contribute today - $25, $50, $100, $250 or any amount, large or small.

* We need 64 people to give $100
* Or 128 people to give $50
* Or 250 people to give $25

Unlike my opponent, I don't take money from corporate special interests - I count on regular folks chipping in to fund this campaign to change Washington.

Every contribution counts, please click here to help me change Washington.

We also have a very exciting announcement. Senator Clinton will be a special guest at my next fundraiser. I am proud to have a fighter like Hillary Clinton on my side. Please join Hillary and I as we work to change this country together.

Thank you and know that your help in the next 24 hours will win the race on Election Day!

Sincerely,
Eric Massa
Commander US Navy (ret.)
Congressional Candidate, NY-29

Hurry...time's running out! Nice to see Hillary helping Eric out too.

Wow....doubled our goal today.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Eric Massa here at the keyboard. It's 10:45pm, and I just checked the
online donations on Act Blue for today. This morning, we set a goal to
raise $6,400 by midnight tonight. I am proud to announce that you have
doubled that goal and we have raised over $13,000 online today alone.

Every morning for the last 4 years, I've gotten up and campaigned to change
this country one day at a time. I have to honest - some days are a lot
harder than others. But it's moments like this, when I realize that I'm not
doing it alone, that make all the difference.

I just wanted to take a moment tonight to let you know how much your
support has meant to me. We have 34 days left, and I'm going to spend every
minute of that time earning the trust and faith you've put in me.

Thanks again,
Eric

PS- 75 minutes to the deadline, so if you're still up, email a friend and
tell them to go to my website at www.massaforcongress.com to make a
donation. I'm going to stay up until midnight out of curiosity to watch
what happens.

They're very excited about today's ActBlue activity. I've been talking with Eric's campaign manager and finance director. They called and woke me up. :)

We learn. We change. That's progress. If we don't do that, well, we're GWB.

Massa emphasizes his position on bailout legislation

As the Senate prepares to debate, retired Navy Commander weighs in

CORNING, N.Y. - Retired Navy Commander and Congressional challenger in New York's 29th District laid out his position on the bailout bill:

"Let me be very clear, I did not support the bill the Bush Administration brought to Congress, I did not support the bill the House voted on Monday afternoon, and I could not support the bill the Senate is working on today as it is currently written. I will only support a bill which creates an independent, non-partisan oversight committee like the Resolution Trust Corporation."

Massa on why he does not support the bill:

"I would not support any bill that puts nearly $1 trillion into the hands of any one person, especially an unsuccessful Treasury Secretary. I will only support a bill that includes accountability and transparency. If we rush to pass an emergency bill demanded by the President, the economic impact would be far worse than taking time to get it right."

On September 22nd, Eric Massa released a plan to stabilize the market and protect taxpayers. Its main points include:

1. No taxpayer funded golden parachutes for CEOs.

2. Requiring that any company that receives bailout money returns a portion of future profits to the American taxpayer.

3. Regulation of Financial derivatives.

4. Requiring that banks maintain a 25% stake in all loans they make.

5. Increasing the penalties for mortgage fraud and creating a national licensing system for mortgage lenders.

6. Reinstating the uptick rule.

7. Creating a Resolution Trust Corporation with independent non-partisan leadership outside of the Treasury department to direct the spending.
