Dear General Clark. You analyze the available data free of ideological spin and share your conclusions freely with all of us. A well-informed electorate is necessary for good government.

Wes Clark teaches us that security is found by living our democratic ideals, not

by using force

final (?) draft for kos diary
thanks everyone for very helpful suggestions

It's sad that some of our leading Democratic presidential candidates feel compelled to compete with one another to show who's tougher on national security.

Wes Clark, a four star general with 34 years of military service, has the courage to tell us what we sense is the truth - that saber rattling and aggression make us less safe and that living up to our own ideals would give us the legitimacy to secure a safer more peaceful world.

Give McCain an arm and he wants a leg too

I don't blame McCain for playing the POW card.

It works so well.

I'm still pretty pissed that General Clark was trashed for daring to tell the truth about McCain...namely that although he deserves respect as would any other veteran, that his military service at the tactical level does not equate to national security expertise.

Wes Clark is best VP choice for Barack Obama and the country.

Wes Clark warned us from the beginning not to be distracted by a faux debate over the size and duration of a so-called surge because the key to long term stability and bringing our troops home from Iraq is and has always been what Wes called a "diplomatic surge".

Obama to General Clark "I got your back"

There are two diaries on DK one is the top recommended one that quotes Obama saying he was not referring to what General Clark said about McCain in his speech and does not think General Clark owes Senator McCain an apology.

Michelle Obama must have smiled when Wes Clark did Face the Nation today

Wes Clark, Joe Lieberman's nemesis, followed Lieberman today on Face the Nation via satellite from Little Rock. General Clark did a great job on behalf of Barack Obama, which I'll get to in a moment.

Empty Words?

I wish to thank Tom Rinaldo, Stan Davis and a few other Clarkies who have graciously re welcomed Clarkies who supported Barack Obama during the Democratic Primary. These Senator Clinton supporters have made an effort to be accomodating and even open to the possibility that Barack Obama may be a more worthy presidential candidate than they may have once thought. They are willing to consider the points made by Obama supporters and respond fairly.

Why this Clarkie supports Barack Obama

I just read dengre's diary in his/her continuing expose of the Jack Abramoff scandal that seems to have permeated the Republican political machine, from the election process through the legislative process.

It's an ugly story of greed and corruption that has threatened our democracy and brought us to the edge of a financial/geopolitical/environmental cliff.
